Zhan Weizhong was born on March 3, 1964, in Macau. His father fled from mainland China to Macau during the war, later starting a family there. Zhan is one of three brothers in the family. In 1970, the family took a boat to Taiwan and settled in Qingshui, Taichung, where he grew up in a military眷村 (veterans' village) environment. During his school years, he attended Qiangshu High School, Zhongxing High School in Taipei, and Jiren High School in New Taipei City. He later studied at St. John's University of Science and Technology and also pursued further studies at Okinawa University in Japan (without graduating). Since the age of 17, Zhan Weizhong has been self-taught in the study of fate and destiny. He has since devoted over 40 years to Ziwei Doushu (Purple Star Astrology), also delving into Feng Shui, face reading, nameology, and Qimen Dunjia, gradually building a reputation and credibility as a professional fortune teller. He has been active in the television industry for many years. From 2008 to 2018, he appeared in numerous TV dramas, often playing the role of a fortune teller, and starred in the 2016 film "Life Gets a Thumbs Up." He has also been a regular fortune-telling guest on various variety shows and released a personal album titled "94 Kai Yun." Academically, Zhan Weizhong was once appointed as a visiting professor in the Department of Spatial Design at Shenzhen University. He has been prolific in writing, publishing over a dozen books on fortune-telling, Feng Shui, and nameology since 2004, and releases an annual "Kai Yun Farmer's Almanac," accumulating a large readership over the years. Currently signed with the Easy Creative Agency, Zhan Weizhong is one of Taiwan's most well-known fortune tellers, straddling both the entertainment and fortune-telling industries.
